C|S Country Club Wedding ⋆ Hudson, MA
When Chris reached out to me for his initial consultation we just clicked. He was passionate about his love for his fiance, Steven, and he was passionate about the wedding he was planning to celebrate them and all of their loved ones. Chris was looking for someone that he could trust to bring his dream to life.
There were lots of details planned for the reception at Charter Oak Country Club in Hudson, MA: from tall, overflowing floral centerpieces, gilded gold flatware at every seat and no shortage of candlelight. The dream design was to achieve an event that both felt sophisticated and masculine.
The ceremony was held at Martha Mary Chapel in Sudbury, MA on a rainy day in New England. There was something so romantic about the way we had to pack all the guests into the primitive spaces of the chapel. The rain continued to pitter, patter outside but the guests were dry and cozy inside as they waited for Chris and Steven to arrive. Both escorted by their mothers, Steven walked down the aisle followed by Chris. When the doors closed behind them, I could no longer see, but the way their nearest and dearest collectively “awwd” and roared with laughter was such a special occasion to overhear. Chris and Steven were wholeheartedly being celebrated and I couldn’t wait to get the party started.
Chris was very thoughtful about what he wanted to include for his event design. He had big dreams of an oversized lucite escort card display with each guest’s name outlined onto the clear background. Once we connected with Design and Scribe the vision quickly became a reality. The gold base was covered in elaborate white and green florals with their wedding crest featured boldly at the top center. The final result was truly something special and guests admired it’s complexity.
Another element that received a lot of attention was the candlelight. The massive planned display of candles for the front table was truly remarkable in execution and captivated each guest as they arrived to celebrate. The candle light continued through Charter Oak and up the grand staircase on the way into the ballroom. Once in the foyer of the space, the entire mantle was packed with candles as well. Each candle was the perfect touch to break through the rain that was falling outside and effortlessly cast intimacy throughout the space.
The wedding party’s grand entrance into the reception was UNREAL. The timing was precise, the excitement was effortlessly built and the guests were on their toes waiting for Chris and Steven to burst through the doors! Queue the goosebumps … it was that amazing. Once they entered, they were able to carry their way throughout the ballroom before slowing things down a bit to enjoy their first dance.
A bit later in the dining experience, I was blown away by the speeches - so thoughtful, touching and entertaining! It really brought the overall feel of the wedding full circle to have the best men speak so fondly and funnily about both Chris and Steven. From there, we cruised right through formalities to make sure we kicked the party up right on schedule. They had DJ Danny Walsh handling the music for the night. He’s a repeat vendor for their family and he kept the dance floor packed, once again.
Chris and Steven were the first ones to suggest such thoughtful elements. They planned for time to greet and thank each guest. They opted for a donation to a charity with meaning to them rather than handing out favors. They were gracious with each and every vendor. Chris and Steven, thank you for being such a dream to work with! Be sure to share some love with them, too, in the comments section below!
